About Videography

A good video should make you feel like you are there again

There are primarily three types of wedding video end products.

  1. Cinematic Highlights - A Cinematic highlights only video will summarize the key moments of your day incorporating the most beautiful, romantic, fun moments that happened on your wedding day.  The highlights are generally set to music with some voice overlays.  Many Cinematic Style videographers offer only a "Highlights film".
  2. Documentary style video - Documentary style is fully edited and captures everything as it happened with the actual audio (no music overlays).   Watching your wedding should be like watching a really good movie.  It should be in High Definition, with good video composition.  It should not be handheld and shaky.   Audio quality is also extremely important.
  3. Raw Footage -  You will most likely never watch a raw footage video more than once, if you watch it at all.  This is only recommended for someone who is a video editor and intends to edit the video themselves.   Raw footage will be cheaper than an edited video, but it is not a savings to get a video you will only look at once.

Classic Video Productions offers Documentary Style video with the option to add a Highlights Chapter to your final product.

Your end product video, whether you choose to get it on DVD or on a thumb drive to watch on a Smart TV or computer, will have a chapter for your ceremony,  a chapter for your reception and if there was a receiving line or formal picture session with the photographer, we stay with you and film that and create short chapters for those events as well.   In order to enjoy watching your wedding video again and again, and to really feel like you are back there in the moment,  you will want to be able to watch more than just highlights set to music.

Our Highlights chapter on the video summarizes the entire day in about 10 minutes, highlighting the most important moments, the most romantic moments, sometimes it's a funny moment, all set to music with some voice overlays.  It is a great way to bring it all back to you in a quick 10 minute chapter.

Our Philosophy about Filming- We Are As Candid as Possible

A Wedding is one of the most important days in your life.  It is going to fly by so fast and it will be over before you know it.  You are going to feel like you are being pulled in a hundred directions all day long.

As your videographer, we won't be one of your many distractions.  Your photographer needs to pose you for shots.  Our job is to stay one step ahead of everything and capture the most important moments of your day.  We will even capture many moments that you might not be aware happened, but what our videographers won't do is pose you or "direct you" to do things in order to "create a video".  A skilled videographer is able to capture you throughout the day and put together a beautiful end product without the need to pose you and direct you to do things in order to make their video better.

Hiring an experienced wedding videographer is a must because there are NO do-overs when filming a wedding.

Kristen and Enrico were married by a Justice of the Peace in a short ceremony, under the Palm Trees on the beach at Anthony's Ocean View in East Haven, CT.    Watch their ceremony chapter here.   Everything that you see and hear is exactly how it happened.  In a documentary style chapter, we do not overlay music or use shortened clips.  This ceremony was 2 camera coverage.  Notice as you watch, the different perspectives that each camera is able to capture. This makes watching the video much more interesting.

Reception Video

As much as we love photography, a still photograph will not bring back that hilarious toast, or the glisten of a tear in your father's eye as he dances the Father Daughter dance with you.

With our documentary style reception chapter, you will enjoy watching your wedding as if you were there again.

This Reception Chapter is shortened down for the sake of fitting on the website.

This is truly one of the funniest Bestman toasts we have heard.  This is a perfect example of why you need both Photography AND Videography.  A photograph is not going to have you laughing out loud like you will when watch this 4 minute clip.
